Creative Youth MCR is a new digital platform championing the voice and creativity of young people in Manchester. Its ambition is to provide a space by and for young people across the city to share their creativity, be inspired, to influence and effect change.

The site has been developed as part of the work of Manchester’s cultural and education partnership (MCEP) a collaboration between arts, education and youth organisations across the city.

Originally the idea was borne from the impact of COVID-19 on school and college students, particularly for those completing GCSE and UAL visual arts courses whose creative work was never shown in school or college art shows.  This first phase has been supported by young people from Abraham Moss Community School, Manchester Communications Academy, Chorlton High Schools and Manchester College. Zainab, Hannah, Kaynat, Fatima, Tayyab, Mahgul and Fatima, have curated the online work and helped guide the development of this site.

From this starting point MCEP’s newly formed Youth Voice Boards will  take on the baton to move the site forward and shape an inclusive, vibrant platform for all forms of creativity.
